The Auckland Flood - 31 January 2023

截至 2023 年 1 月 31 日的奥克兰洪水。

I hear the sirens wailing,

Crying out in sorrowful pain,

Disaster strikes quickly and

Without warning.

A flash of lightning,

A roar of thunder,

The floods that bring chaos and disaster !

They swallow Auckland like a swollen tide

The forces hit the buildings with all their might.

The water is rising

It quickly becomes quite clear,

“What shall we do?” Our fear

Of the force of nature taking down

Buildings, trees, roads and everything around,

Leaving destruction in its wake

The wreckage that our City has to take.

But while the waters overwhelm us,

We find hopes in one another.

We’ll rebuild and our lives will thus

Be anew, and go on, like no other.

我听到警笛声，
悲痛欲绝的呐喊，
灾难来得很快，而且
没有警告。
一道闪电，
一声惊雷，
带来混乱和灾难的洪水！
他们像涨潮一样吞没了奥克兰
部队用尽全力袭击建筑物。
水在上涨
 它很快变得很清楚，
“我们怎么办？”我们的恐惧
大自然的力量
建筑物、树木、道路和周围的一切，
留下毁灭
我们的城市必须承受的残骸。
但是当水淹没我们时，
我们在彼此身上找到希望。
我们将重建，我们的生活将因此
焕然一新，继续前进，与众不同。
