At this time every year, my son has lamented on how we, as a family unit, have failed to keep up with our Chinese Lunar New Year tradition. I must admit that since May 1979 when I brought my family of seven to settle in Auckland New Zealand from idyllic Singapore’s Chinatown, most of our Chinese Lunar New Year traditional activities have virtually disappeared.
