Wenzhou’s Family of Four

I have just written the first (of many-to-come) trilingual (English, Chinese, Maori) children’s e-book basing on the recent Chinese TV drama entitled “Family on the Go 温州一家人.” The story is about the fates of the four members of a family in a Chinese provincial town of Wen Zhou - Father, Mother, Son, and Daughter. The following is just an excerpt from the book to show you a sample of the result. This e-book is available free of charge to all of my friends from Facebook and from Linkedin. Matariki, the Maori New Year 毛利元旦

Te tau hou = New Year; o te iwi Maori iwi = of the Maori people! Matariki! Matariki! He was talking and drawing stars on the whiteboard. He was talking and writing out the names of the stars on the whiteboard. His back was facing us and therefore we were not able to listen properly. Worse, his colored felt pens, both the blue and the red, ran thin of ink, making it hard for us to read those Maori names of the various stars like Uru-aa-rangi; Waipuna-aa-rangi; Matariki; Waitaa; Waitii; Tupu-aa-rangi and Tupu-aa-nuku. Waipuna-aa-rangi; […]

Shall I continue to complete this piece of her poetry before commenting further? You bet I will !!! “He offers his arm, escorts her along the bewildering pathway. At the porch steps, she stops, slides her arm from his, turns, sweetly confused, leans her wrinkled cheek against his uniformed chest. He steadies her, a gentle touch of elbow. Writing A Book for Toddlers 写给幼儿的书

My youngest grandson, two years and a half young was with me in a restaurant the other day. As usual, he was full of energy. He was restless in his baby chair. Corona Virus

Thanks to cousin Steven Chee for the following article. I find this helpful in the current circumstance that I need to relate to my readers immediately with my own comments after that. “The virus cell is pretty large in size, about 400-500nm in diameter. Therefore any normal mask should be able to filter the virus out. However, when an infected person sneezes in front of you, the viruses from his mouth will take time to settle to the ground.
