At Eighty

At eighty, I turned silly and free,
Behaving like a child, wild and funny,
Disturbing the peaceful country.

At eighty-one, my mind, it forgot,
Where I parked, in which parking lot?
Still disturbing the peaceful country.

Eighty-two, and oh, what could I do>
Arthritis pains, a struggle in every shoe,
Disturbing both family members and me.

At eighty-three, where is the key?
Ny hearing fading, the whispers I can’t see,
Yet still I try to find moments of glee.

At eighty-four, I danced on the floor,
Carefree and light, like never before,
Embracing the laughter, setting it free.

Eighty-five came, with never a dive,
Despite the wrinkles and age alive,
Staying strong and steady, like a wise old tree.

Eighty-six arrived, the bucket I did kick,
Leaving memories behind, come so quick,
Now part of the peaceful country, endlessly.
