Now for the first day of this month’s needle, the answer is displayed hereunder.

We start today’s equation with 4 * 6 + 5 = 2 9. No green coloured cell. Digits 6 and 9 and the equal sign ( = ) are purple - in th solution but not in the right position.

Then we do the equation 1 8 9 / 63 = 3. Only two greens now - the digit 8 and the equal sign.

With the division sign ( / ) been purple, the only position for ( / ) is either the third or the fifth positions. Also two division signs in such a short equation with only one digit answer is rare. So we go for a division sign ( / ) and a deduction sign ( - ) thus: 9 8 / 7 - 6 = 8. Nearly correct.

The final equation od 9 8 / 7 - 8 = 6 is correct.

Line # 1: 9 * 8 + 3 = 7 5. Result: The equal sign ( = ) and the number ‘5’ are in the solution but not in those positions.

Line # 2: 1 5 / 5 - 2 = 1. Result: Five purples (present in solution but in wrong positions) and one green (the equal sign). Note: No multiplication and no addition, but both division and subtraction are present in solution.

Line # 3: 5 - 1 2 / 4 = 2. Result: Four greens and two purples, and “No” to digits 2 and 4.

Line # 4: 2 - 1 0 / 5 = 0. All greens, all correct.
