Maori Transliterations

Ko Taraika ahau. I am Taraika.

Ko, in Maori, means ” is ” or ” am “. Taraika, in Maori, means ” a truck ” - which is a transliteration of the English word. Ahau, in Maori, means ” I ” or ” me “. The sentence therefore can be translated as I am a truck, but this does not seem right. So, the word “Taraika” is therefore a name of a person or a boy. The sentence therefore can be translated as “I am Taraika” or “My name is Taraika”. We can now know the meaning of sentences like “Ko John ahau” or “Ko Margaret ahau”.

Ko Taraika ahau. Ko te tikanga o te reo Maori ko ” is ” or ” am “. Ko Taraika, i te reo Maori, ko te tikanga ” he taraka ” - he whakamaoritanga o te kupu pakeha. No reira ka taea te whakamaori i te rerenga korero he taraka ahau, engari kaore i te tika. Na, ko te kupu “Taraika” he ingoa tangata, tama ranei. Na reira ka taea te whakamaoritanga “Ko Taraika ahau” ranei “Ko Taraika toku ingoa”.

Ko Taraika ahau。
