To write a piece of creative essay, we need to plan out our topic and the sequence of our paragraphs, leading to our conclusion.

Let us start with a topic.

Just the other day, one of my tutees talked about a topic that we, as parents, seldom heard of. I got him to spell the topic out for me and it was “Silver Surfer”. So I guided him to do his creative essay. Let us follow what he had done.

Oh, just before that, we like to offer a piece of advice to parents. When your child gives a reply to your question that appears ridiculous, please do not reprimand your child. Get behind your child and repeat his or her answer positively by saying something like this: “Good! What is your answer again? Spell it out for me. I want to know this more. Hm, this is interesting. Thanks.”

He googled the topic and got a wide range of websites including some video clips on YouTube. He complied with the data collected into the background, the strength, and the weaknesses of Silver Surfer.

“I have seen the creation of mankind and I shall soon see mankind’s destruction. Yes, I have seen the world. It may be heaven before, but the world will soon be reduced to a planet of greed, fear, and hatred! I see humans are betrayed human heritage! I can’t stand this anymore!” -Silver surfer.

Once that data was compiled, he was told to have a modern theme for the essay. He chose to have the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic as his theme.

For his creative conclusion, he chose the eradication of the coronavirus from the earth as a happy ending. “Peace on earth, at last!” was to be his last sentence from Silver Surfer.

He started his essay with a dialogue between Silver and Galactus.

 “So you want me to find you some planets to feast on, right? “ Silver Surfer asked.

“Too right, ” came Galactus’s reply.

“Let me take a look,” Silver Surfer put on his powerful eyes. He tuned in his powerful ears, twisted his powerful nasal senses, and concentrated on the topic with his powerful brain. “This is it,” he finally said, “Earth!” “Earth is not for you to eat, but it is a good planet to step on for nearby scouting planets to savour on.”

“Wow! Earth itself is in crisis - What’s this, let me sharpen my senses first,” Silver Surfer continued.

Galactus took another cool, concentrated look. “Yes,” he agreed, “Earth is a good place to stay as there are millions of planets near Earth. Yes, save the people on Earth from this COVID 19 nuisance.”

Silver Surfer had to move and act fast. Already more than three million people had died and still, there were over seven million people affected. Earth’s governments had got this coronavirus all wrong. Their focus was wrongly directed to the creation of an immunity cure. The lesson they must learn must be that of loving compassion of one another, of family love. Silver Surfer agreed with what Jack Ma of China had said, “Stop trying to be materially rich. Stop working for the hoarding of money. Concentrate on each other. To be able to overcome this COVID 19 by expressing mutual love with one another is vital. Getting this COVID 19 over is worth millions in gold. “

Silver Surfer flung to action immediately. He threw down millions and millions of masks to Earth. Strange, the masks came from the sky, soft almost liquid-like in the sky but by the time they came to the front doors of every household, they were boxed and the masks were of cloth-like materials, sewn at the seams with sensors that register the temperatures of all people within a three meters radius nearby.

Within a month of the wearing of such masks that had auto-distancing warning signals, the entire Earth’s population registered a lower infection rate. By a month-and-a-half, coronavirus 0r COVID 10 had been totally eliminated for planet Earth.

“Peace on Earth, at last!” said both Silver Surfer and Galactus.
