Under the Banyan Tree 榕樹下

It’s so easy to learn the Mandarin Language through old romantic songs. One of these songs is entitled “Under the Banyang Tree”. The first version was sung by Amy Chan 陈丽媚 from Malaysia. Below are the screens showing the Chinese words with the Romanised Pinyin for easy learning. Play the song over and over again, many times, and imitate Amy to get the right intonation of each character of the song.

This song originates from Japan and in the year 1977 this was a famous Japanese folk song entitled “The Spring of Northern Kingdom”. 北国之春。 The song then caught the attention of Taiwanese songwriters and the Chinese wordings was created to fit into the tune.
