The Good, Bad, Ugly 好的, 坏的, 丑陋的

The following YouTube video has more than seven million viewers since 2014 and not a word is sung. There must be a reason why so many are so touched by just one band, one silent choir group dressed in black, and one lady singer dressed in red and not a single word is sung.

I’ll tell you what? In all of my life, whenever I meet up with some difficulties or hardship, whether at home or at work, I stop talking and I turn this music on in my mind and you know what? Yes, I am at peace once again. I smile, ignoring my boss’s reprimand. I smiled, ignoring the angry words of my family’s boss and I hummed this tune.

Now another Danish version of the same musical theme viewed by more than thirty-four million. Why, indeed?

“WA, Wa, Wa … “

So inspiring! So refreshing!

Just a few words to increase our Maori and Chinese vocabulary lists.

The Good = Te pai = 好的 (hao de)

The Bad = Te kino = 坏的 (huai de)

The Ugly = Te tino = 丑陋的 (Chou lou de)

How inspiring = pehea faauru = 多么鼓舞人心 (Duo me gu wu ren xin)

And, finally, below is my favorite version of the same piece of music played by the Fantasy Orchestra:
