Retired but still Active - 退休但仍然活跃

The House, our Home, is one of three terraced houses, the house is the first as we turn into Ireland Road from Ellerslie Panmure Highway. It is solidly built in brick with tiled roof.

We are both retired, active, contented and happy.

Our main lounge is comfortable, and is large enough for the two of us to sit peacefully and watch the TV programmes.

We take our morning walk around the Panmure Basin every morning. It takes us about thirty minutes and often our neighbour at 3/99, Alison, walk with us. Along the sealed loop of 3.2 kilometres we meet up with kids on bikes or on scooters going to the three playgrounds where elderlies practice ‘Tai Chi”.

In the afternoon, before our naps, we tender to our vegetables in our private garden behind the house.

Sometimes, we walk to the Panmure Train Station to go to the City, to the Sylvia Park, and to Glen Innes for our shopping needs. At times we travel out of Panmure on public buses that travels along the Ellerslie-Panmure Highway. The bus stop is just next to the Train Station.

Once a week, we walked to Panmure’s Lagoon Pools for our weekly swim.

Our grand-children visit us on a weekly basis when they go to the nearby Panmure YMCA Gym, just up the road from here.

Often, at weekends, we bring our family members with us to visit Hansan Restaurant (for a Vietnamese meal) or to Imperial Palace Restaurant (for Yum Char food), both within walking distances.

The Panmure Public Library is again readily accessible to us. We simply walk along Ireland Road and turn into Pilkington Road, where the Library is located. On the way back from the Library, we usually visit the Unichem Chemist at Queens Road, Panmure, for our usual health supplements.

Yes, without a shadow of a doubt, this place is so convenient for us - the active retirees.

But now that we have aged, it is time for us to have some care facilities. Thus, we need to sell this treasured home to go to the nearby Summerset Retirement Village.
