Word Search Maker - 为孩子创造文字游戏

To create a word search puzzle for our children, we go to the website https://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/word-search and follow the instructions therein. We describe the steps to do this:

Step 1: Enter a title for your puzzle. This title will appear at the top of the puzzle. Let us give an example, say “Jack and Jill”, from the nursery rhyme - ‘Jack and Jill went up the hill, to fetch a pail of water.’

Step 2: We enter the size of our word search puzzle. Our puzzle can be up to 40 letter by 40 letters in size but we recommend a size of 15 letters by 15 letters.

Step 3: We choose the Word search puzzle options: - whether (a) the words do not share (fastest to generate and easiest to solve); or (b) share words occasionally; or (c) share letters as much as possible (takes longer to generate and a little longer to solve the puzzle.

Step 4: Choose the word search puzzle output type. There are only a choice of two: Image or HTML. As we are not so technical as to know what HTML means, we better choose the Image option.

Step 5: Case Options - We need to choose whether to use all UPPER case letters, or a Mixed Upper / and Lower case letters, or all lower case letters. We choose the ALL UPPER CASE LETTERS.

Step 6: We enter our words, typing each word on a new line or typing the words separated by commas. Before doing this we look at all the words in the Jack and Jill lyrics.

STEP 7: We choose here to show all the instructions in the puzzle below the puzzle grid and the words to be uncovered in the grid.

We then click the “Create My Puzzle” box to create the puzzle shown below.

We print out the puzzle for our children to find all the words in the grid. If they get stuck for too long, simply take a peep at the answer below:
