We have COVID-19 now, but do we know that our great grandparents had experienced a similar pandemic situation in the years 1918-1920? It is called the Spanish Influenza. That pandemic killed fifty million people worldwide.
During that period, many people thought that we were facing the end of the world, that the people would soon be extinct and that the entire earth would revert back to those ages when dinosaurs roamed.
我们现在有COVID-19，但是我们是否知道我们的曾祖父母在1918-1920年间也经历过类似的大流行情况？它被称为西班牙流感。这场大流行杀死了全世界五千万人。
Wǒmen xiànzài yǒu COVID-19, dànshì wǒmen shìfǒu zhīdào wǒmen de zēng zǔfùmǔ zài 1918-1920 niánjiān yě jīnglìguò lèisì de dà liú háng qíngkuàng? Tā bèi chēng wèi xībānyá liúgǎn. Zhè chǎng dà liúxíng shā sǐle quán shìjiè wǔqiān wàn rén.

“Every human being likes to act as if he is God. Every human being wants to take every natural resource as if he owns all these natural resources - the water, the air, the coal, the gold.

“The earth moves around the sun because I design this in order that the earth can have differing climates at various times of a year. The moon moves around the earth such that the earth enjoys the day as different from the night.
“So, everything, yes, every happening has been designed such that all can appreciate the differences of “Being”. Imagine what a dull world this would have been without differences, without descriptive vocabularies like ‘tall’ as opposed to ‘short’, or ‘pretty’ as opposed to ‘ugly’, or ‘kindness’ as opposed to ‘cruelty’.

Some days I can provide Joy generously to you but when Joy is absent in your life, it is not that I do not care about you. It is just that I want to allow you to live through those joyless days in order that you can appreciate Joy more when it comes to you, sooner or later.
“Remember that I have created this day for all - creatures and plants alike - and any day is never a chance occurrence.
“Keep Me in your mind, just as I have always kept you in My mind.”
“From tomorrow onwards, why not start every day with a prayer to your God.”

Yǒu shíhòu, wǒ kěyǐ kāngkǎi dì xiàng nín tígōng xǐyuè, dànshì dāng nín de shēnghuó zhōng méiyǒu xǐyuè shí, bìng bùshì wǒ bùzàihū nín, wǒ zhǐshì xiǎng ràng nín dùguò jiānnán de rìzi, yǐbiàn zài xìngfú láilín shí nín néng xiǎngshòu gèng duō.

“Jiù xiàng bǎ wǒ yīzhí láojì zàixīnlǐ yīyàng, bǎ wǒ fàng zài xīn shàng.”
“Cóng míngtiān kāishǐ, xiàng nín de shàngdì qídǎo, kāishǐ xīn de yītiān.”
The sun is up, away goes the night,
After darkness then, a beaming light.
A fall, a rise, not otherwise;
Unless all fools were born so sages wise.
A bier borne, new babe is born,
New life must come at every dawn.
Come saddened heart, why sit and mourn?
