Brighter Days 更光明的日子
更光明的日子快要到了。 Gèng guāngmíng de rìzi kuàiyào dàole。 Brighter days are coming soon.
The verses above were first published in a school magazine of Victoria School, Singapore, way back in the year 1957 (or was it 1958?) by a student, Lai Pang Fee. There were more verses that are now lost in memory. If there is any person who still retains a copy of this magazine, kindly have those verses added in, thanks.
Shàngmiàn de shījù zuìzǎo fābiǎo zài xīnjiāpō wéiduōlìyǎ xuéxiào de xuéxiào zázhì shàng, yào zhuīsù dào 1957 nián (huòzhě shì 1958 nián?), Yóu xuéshēng lípéngfēi (Lai Pang Fee) fābiǎo. 一个棺材被带走了,但一个新的婴儿进入了这个世界;亲爱的生命要来了,何必坐着哀悼? Yīgè guāncai bèi dài zǒule, dàn yīgè xīn de yīng'ér jìnrùle zhège shìjiè; qīn'ài de shēngmìng yào láile, hébì zuòzhe āidào?

来吧,忧伤的心,何必坐视不理!

Lyrics: Que Sera, Sera
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty
Will I be rich
Here’s what she said to me
Que sera, sera
Whatever will be, will be
The future’s not ours to see
Que sera, sera
What will be, will be
When I grew up and fell in love
I asked my sweetheart, what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows
Day after day
Here’s what my sweetheart said
Que sera, sera
Whatever will be, will be
The future’s not ours to see
Que sera, sera
What will be, will be
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome
Will I be rich
I tell them tenderly
Que sera, sera
Whatever will be, will be
The future’s not ours to see
Que sera, sera
What will be, will be
Que sera, sera
Doris Day gives the best rendition of this song ‘Que, Sera, Sera, Whatever will be will be!” https://youtu.be/xZbKHDPPrrc
