Scratch - Computer Digital Coding for Kids

What is Scratch?

Scratch is a simple computer coding system developed by students at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) for children to program and to share interactive stories, games, and animation with the public. As they create such programs, they are learning logical thinking and to reason out issues systematically.

Perhaps we shall start by letting you or your child look at some computer inventions designed and coded by young children aged between the ages of five and ten. Simply click on the following links:

What is my object?

I have started a group to experiment and to teach you, the readers, or your children from the age of eight this wonderful visual programming language. To start the course with me, simply email me at [email protected] to join my special WeChat group. Alternatively, simply write a comment to this post on this website and I or one of the members of the current group will reply to you as soon as possible.

The initial free course has ten lessons starting with simple artwork right through to animation in a simple computer game.

What Next?

It is so simple. Watch the first free tutorial program from YouTube below and if you are not interested in joining up with me, don’t worry. I won’t be offended. Proceed on to view Kevin Briggs tutorials on YouTube and if you care to exchange experiences, email to me your projects. I shall be delighted to share.

Thanks.
